Yesterday, my daughter wanted to paint her toenails, which is always our mom-daughter activity when the guys are gone. Unfortunately, my feet needed some serious TLC before I got an at-home pedicure.
Naturally, I used my DIY recipes to get my feet soft. They are just as effective as what you buy in the store, and they are a lot less expensive.
Whether you use my recipe or your favorite recipes or even products from the store, you can learn how to get soft feet fast.
The trick to getting soft feet at home is to keep your feet soft. Don't slack on your foot care, or you'll spend more time getting them soft.
Most people want to get soft feet fast as soon as the weather breaks and it's time to wear sandals. That's not the time to start. The best time to start a few weeks before sandal season.
HOW TO GET SOFT FEET FAST
Like I said, getting soft feet fast is easier once your feet are prepped. My feet get horribly dry in the winter. In the summer, I live in sandals. It's like the perfect storm for dry, cracked heels and dry feet.
I tried the files. I did these steps, and they worked, but the best thing I did for my feet was use Baby Foot (read my Baby Foot Review here for all of the details).
Baby Foot has natural extract that work to loosen the top layer of your skin. You put one some plastic booties, sit back and relax for a while, then wash your feet.
Now sit back and wait. You won't see results for several days, but trust that it's coming. Your feet will peel all over, and you'll be left with super soft skin.
Y'all. It's disgustingly amazing.
I used it two years ago, and I just not need to start thinking of getting another one. I do follow the step in this post on how to get soft feet fast for maintenance, so your results may vary.
HOW TO GET SOFT FEET FAST STEP #1
First, I soaked my feet to soften the skin and relax a little bit. I grabbed my iPad and read while my feet soaked in the warm water.
I filled a basin with liquid castile soap and baking soda. The soap softens your skin and cleans it, and the baking soda naturally deodorizes them.
I've also used this lavender chamomile tub tea recipe to soak my feet in. I don't use the tea bag; I just put the sea salt and herbs in the water and soak.
If you'd rather buy instead of DIY, try this Tea Tree Oil Foot Soak from Amazon. It has Epsom salts and essential oils to soften the skin and kill bacteria and fungus.
Pat feet dry for the next step.
HOW TO GET SOFT FEET FAST STEP #2
Next, scrub your feet with a sugar scrub to get rid of the dead skin. I made my Easy Sugar Scrub recipe with half olive oil, half coconut oil, and all white sugar. I used coconut oil mainly for the smell, but it did work very well in the recipe. You can use any oil you have on hand.
I also really like this pumpkin foot mask. Pumpkin has enzymes that help exfoliate dead skin. I prefer this one to a sugar scrub because of the pumpkin.
If you'd rather buy a scrub, try Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub. The shea butter will add some extra moisture.
Scrub your feet all over for several minutes. Don't forget to get your toes so they look great after you use polish!
HOW TO GET SOFT FEET FAST STEP #3
Keep your feet moisturized to keep them soft. I use a moisturizer every single night on my feet. I change my lotions and balm often because I make so many different recipe to post here. You want to look for the best lotion ingredients for dry skin.
Peppermint lotion is great for your feet. This after sun lotion recipe is also great for feet. It has peppermint in it, which is great for soothing tired feet.
It also has lilac infused carrier oils to help moisturize and heal the skin. I added some allantoin for more healing power.
You could also use this dandelion solid lotion recipe for your feet. It's very moisturizing an lux with chia seed oil infused with dandelions.
If you'd rather buy a foot cream, try this all natural foot cream from The Yellow Bird.
To keep your feet soft, you'll want to repeat these three steps once a week. Soak, scrub, and use lotion.
Then use a cream or lotion on your feet every night to keep your feet soft.
