The last time I got my hair done, she bleached all of my blonde highlights again to get them a little lighter. It looks amazing, but I noticed that my hair isn't as shiny as it could be on the top. Since I have curly hair, my hair tends to get a little dry anyway, so I made this shine spray for hair recipe to boost the shine and add some good oils to my hair. It's so easy to make with just three ingredients too. Keep reading for the full recipe and what each ingredient does.
DIY Shine Spray for Hair Recipe
I spray this on my hair after I flat iron for a little extra shine. I find that it helps my hair stay straight and look better for an extra day without getting too oily. If I do get a little too much oil, I can use a dry shampoo on the second day. If you have dry scalp, this also works to nourish your scalp. Just spray on your scalp or on your fingers and massage in to your scalp. You can let it sit for 15-30 minutes and wash if it's too oily for you.
Cyclomethicone is a smooth, dry silicone. It's weightless on your hair, and it leaves it silky smooth. I also added fractionated coconut oil because it's a liquid at room temperature, yet it has the same skin and hair benefits as coconut oil. Argan oil is a great dry oil for your hair. It helps nourish your hair without weighing it down.
What You Need
- 2 ounces cyclomethicone
- 1 ounce fractionated coconut oil
- 1 ounce argan oil
- spray bottle
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in spray bottle and shake well.
- To use, spray on wet hair and scalp. Massage in to scalp and work through hair. You can also spray on dry hair and comb through hair.
- Since there's no water in this recipe, it will last for several months.
