How to make a frozen sangria slushie recipe with Aldi white sangria kit. This is an easy way to make a yummy frozen treats for adults this summer.
It's here! The long awaited Aldi sangria kits have hit stores. I assume they are available all over if my small town got them already.
As much as I love a regular sangria, the first thing I thought of when I saw these is a frozen sangria slushie recipe.
We haven't gotten into the hot part of summer yet, but we will soon. The kids like to make slushies and frozen popsicles, and I like to have an adult slushie or popsicle sometimes, too.
If you want to make this nonalcoholic, you can totally do that. I'll give you instructions for that, too.

Our annual Fourth of July party is coming up, and I want to try to a new recipe for the adults. This year, I want to serve this frozen sangria slushie recipe made with a Aldi white sangria kit.
Before we move on to the recipe, I want to note that this isn't sponsored in any way. I just happen to love Aldi because my son can't have food dyes or high fructose corn syrup.
Aldi gives me worry free shopping because none of their products have artificial dyes and most things that normally do have HFCS don't have it at Aldi.
I also save a ton of money shopping at Aldi, so it's a total win for my family.
WHAT ARE THE ALDI SANGRIA KITS?
Genius. That's what they are.
They are frozen bags of mixed fruit. They don't have alcohol in them, so you could also use them for smoothies for the kids.
They have two kinds: red and white. I chose the white for this recipe.
The white kit has frozen strawberries, oranges, green apples, and pineapples. The red kit has frozen tart cherries, dark sweet cherries, blackberries, and oranges. Both retail for $3.49 for a full pound of fruit.
I think it's a great price for a pound of frozen fruit. You'd have to buy each individually, so this saves some money. The odds of me having all of these fresh or frozen at the same time are slim to none.
But these are a special buy, so they won't be around forever. Sad. You can buy fresh or frozen fruit combinations to make your own. Since they don't have alcohol in them, stock up for smoothies for the kids, too.
If you want to make a sangria, you'll also have to add a bottle of wine, some brandy, a sweetener, and some clear soda. I actually skipped the brandy for my sangria and didn't miss it.
WINE
Aldi recommends a sauvignon blanc wine. I grabbed one from Aldi for $4.99. I don't see why any white wine wouldn't work.
BRANDY
We don't drink brandy, so I didn't add it. I think orange liqueur would also be good, but, again, we don't drink that. I didn't want to buy something I won't use for other things.
So I added some lemon lime soda instead.
SWEETENER
You can use sugar, coconut sugar, or honey to sweeten this. I used coconut sugar because I'm trying to avoid white sugar. (Obviously, my version had sugar in the soda. Use diet or juice to avoid that.)
Coconut sugar is my preferred alternative sweetener. It doesn't taste exactly like sugar, but it's close. It doesn't have a bitter after taste like some sugar substitutes.
Coconut sugar has a lower glycemic index than does white sugar, so it doesn't cause the sugar spikes like white sugar. It also has some trace minerals, but I wouldn't exactly call it a healthy food.
You can also use raw honey to make this frozen sangria slushie recipe.
BLENDER
I've gone through so many blenders, it's crazy. We really don't even use it that much. We use one maybe 6 times a year, so going through one every two to three years was kind of crazy.
I kept hearing great things about the Ninja, but I didn't want to spend that much money on something I don't really use. I found the Ninja Blender and Food Processor, and I love it.
It's a great price for the system. It is easy to store in a large basket in the cupboard, too.
What I like is that my old blenders would only blend the bottom. The top was supposed to get sucked down to the bottom to get blended, but it never worked right.
The Ninja mixes from the top, and it works really well. It's quicker, and it really mixes all of it without having to stir it.
Again, not sponsored. Just sharing a product that I use and love.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup white wine
- 3 cup ice
- 1.5 cup frozen fruit
- 1/4 cup lemon lime soda, brandy, or orange liqueur
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 1 tablespoon coconut sugar or honey to taste
DIRECTIONS
STEP #1
Combine white wine, ice, frozen fruit, soda or liquor, orange juice, and sweetener in a blender or Ninja.
The oranges do have the rinds, so I removed those. They came off very easily.

STEP #3
You can freeze these for later. It won't freeze completely hard due to the alcohol content.
I hope you love this frozen sangria slushie recipe! If you want to see one for the red wine kit, let me know in the comments.
