How to make unicorn soap with melt and pour soap and a natural Unicorn Kisses fragrance oil. These adorable soaps will make great gifts or a new soap for your soaping business.
I hope unicorns are always in style. I mean, who wouldn't want to ride a magical unicorn? And the traditional unicorn colors of pink, blue, and purple just make me happy.
These unicorn soaps with melt and pour are adorable, smell just like a unicorn kiss should, and they have glitter. Lots and lots of glitter. Okay, maybe not a lot of glitter, but it's still there.
Since it's summer, I finally had some time to play with soap and get some cute ones made. This isn't a hard soap to make, but it does have four pours, five with the embeds.
I think the extra time is totally worth it. This is my favorite soap of all of the soaps that I've made. I almost don't want to use it. I want to set it on a cute soap dish and hang a sign on it that says don't touch.
But then again, I do want to smell like a unicorn kiss, so maybe I will use it after all.

HOW TO MAKE UNICORN SOAP WITH MELT AND POUR SOAP
I picked up this small unicorn mold a few weeks ago, and I knew the first thing I wanted to make was an embedded soap.
I wanted it to be fun and cute and, of course, glittery. But I wasn't sure how to get there.
I tried tilting the mold on my Star Wars galaxy soap, and I really liked the effect. I used white on that soap, so the colors didn't really blend.
This time, I used clear melt and pour. This gives it a little gradient from pink to purple to blue. I think it turned out really cute!

MELT AND POUR SOAP
I use Crafty Bubbles melt and pour soap and have been for years. It's only available in their catalog.
You can use any melt and pour soap. I didn't add any oils since there are so many pours, so you may want to use a shea butter base or one with more oils.
I do recommend using a white and clear from the same company. Sometimes clear and white from different companies can have different melting points, so it can cause one layer to melt into the next layer.
UNICORN KISSES
I used the new Unicorn Kisses natural fragrance oil from Right Note. It's a blend of berries and fruits. Yum!
It's available in their Bakery set of natural fragrance oils and essential oil blends.
You can also use any fragrance oil or essential oil.
Good ones to try would be:
- 5 drops grapefruit
- 5 drops tangerine
- 2 drops spearmint
- 1 drop ylang ylang
or
If you want to use a fragrance oil, this Unicorn Farts fragrance oil seems like it would smell the closest to the blend that I used.
GLITTER
I used a body safe glitter that's also safe for the face and eye area so there are no worries on using this in the shower even though it's probably not a great soap for the face. This glitter is very fine and looks cute sparkling as you move the soap.
When I'm done with this glitter, I'll get a biodegradable glitter. I bought mine so long ago, I hadn't even heard of the biodegradable glitter.
CANDY SPRINKLES
I used candy sprinkles for the confetti. Please note that if you are selling these, the colors from the sprinkles may bleed.
You may want to make your own with dissolvable paper or something else.
MOLDS
I used two molds for this unicorn soap with melt and pour. I used a small unicorn chocolate mold that I picked up at Joann. I don't see it on Amazon, but you could use this cute set (I'd have bought this for the horns if I'd have seen it first) or this set with 3 styles of little unicorns.
I also used my silicone rectangle mold. I use this mold a lot, and I love how easy it is to unmold the soap.
