Enjoy a delicious skinny iced mocha latte recipe guilt free with no sugar. I also have directions to make this keto friendly. This is a simple iced coffee drink that's perfect for summer.
Ohio skipped spring and went straight to summer. I'm not ready. I really wanted a month without heat or air conditioning.
I'm a coffee snob, and I love my coffee. I don't really understand it when people say that it's too hot for coffee. Coffee is always necessary, no matter what the temperature is.
That said, a nice skinny iced mocha latte recipe on a hot summer afternoon is a great way to cool down while enjoying a special treat.
I prefer not to drink any calories, so I made this a sugar free skinny version. You can also make it a keto iced coffee by adding coconut oil or MCT oil.
Skinny Iced Mocha Latte Recipe
Expect to spend about $3 to $4 for an iced latte at a coffee house or coffee chain. You can make this at home for just pennies.
In fact, you probably have everything that you need already to make it!
Not only will you save a bunch of money, you'll also save a lot of calories. A 12 ounce iced mocha latte from Starbuck's will have:
- 260 calories
- 29 grams of carbs
- 23 grams of sugar
- 12 grams fat
This skinny iced mocha latte made with almond milk and coconut sugar has:
- 99 calories
- 35 grams carbs
- 7.2 grams sugar
- 3.6 grams fat
Although my skinny version has more total carbs, it has a lot less sugar!
Changing the milk, sweetener, and adding coconut or MCT oil will change the nutritional value.
What Is In an Iced Mocha Latte?
An iced mocha latte is a very simple coffee drink to make at home. You'll need brewed coffee, ice, milk, cocoa powder, and a sweetener.
What Is a Mocha Iced Coffee?
A mocha iced coffee is a coffee drink that's similar to a latte with more milk than a regular iced coffee. It also has cocoa powder for a chocolate taste.
Coffee
You can make cold brew coffee or brewed coffee. I make extra in the morning and put it in the fridge to make my skinny iced mocha latte recipe in the afternoon.
Brewed coffee will last three to four days in the fridge, so you can make several day's worth of coffee and store it for later.
I use my regular coffee. Of course, the better the coffee, the better your skinny iced mocha latte recipe will taste.
You can also use decaf or half caf if you prefer.
Milk Choice
I use either heavy whipped cream, half and half, or almond milk. This tastes great with either milk choice.
You can also use a lower fat milk if you are following a low fat diet.
Sweetener
I usually use coconut sugar. It doesn't dissolve really well in cold drinks, so I've been experimenting with stevia and monk fruit.
I find liquid stevia bitter, but so far I'm liking liquid monk fruit.
You can adjust the sugar amounts in this recipe to your taste. You can always add more sweetener after you've made this.
Coconut Oil for MCT Oil
If you are making this as a keto iced mocha latte recipe, you'll want to add coconut oil or MCT oil or powder.
I like coconut oil in my coffee, but it won't melt in this cold drink. You can soften it and add it, or just use MCT oil or MCT powder. I've been using MCT powder lately.
If you aren't following a keto diet, you do not have to add the extra fat
