Menthol eucalyptus shower tablets are an easy DIY to make at home. They do take a day or two to dry before you can use them, so I recommend making them now before you need them.

Are Shower Steamers the Same as Bath Bombs?
No, this eucalyptus shower tablets DIY isn't the same as a bath bomb. The process is similar, but these won't fizz when they hit the water because they don't have citric acid in them.
Further, since this menthol shower steamers recipe isn't meant for the bath where you are in the water, you can add more essential oils to them. The concentration may not be safe for a bath bomb, so only use these as a menthol shower bomb and not as a bath bomb.
How Much Essential Oil Do I Put in Menthol Shower Steamers?
I used 10 drops of essential oils for just under one cup of other ingredients (0.625 cups). I also used menthol crystals to make my menthol shower steamers recipe, so this is a potent menthol shower bomb.
Why Use Menthol Crystals in Shower Steamers?
Menthol is a great natural remedy to relieve the symptoms of cold and cough. When the menthol shower tablets dissolve, menthol creates a sensation in your nose that air is moving through.
Menthol doesn't truly relieve nasal congestion, but it can make it easier to breathe. Menthol also helps relieve the symptoms of a sore throat or cough.
How Do You Dissolve Menthol Crystals for Shower Steamers?
Menthol crystals dissolve in alcohol or oil, and I chose oil for this menthol shower steamers recipe. Simply heat the oil and add the menthol crystals. They will dissolve into a liquid so you can add them to the other ingredients to make menthol shower melts.
Is Eucalyptus Good in the Shower?
Eucalyptus essential oil is one of the best essential oils for cough and cold in my opinion. Eucalyptus is often used to relieve chest congestion and reduce the urge to cough.
I also used fir needle essential oil in my eucalyptus shower steamer because it's a natural expectorant. It's also anti-inflammatory and can promote sleep.
You can also use one or more of these best essential oils for cold and flu or the best essential oils for sinus headache.

Where Should Menthol Shower Steamers be Placed in a Shower?
When you use your eucalyptus shower tablets DIY, first activate it by getting it damp. Then place it on the floor of the shower away from where water will hit it directly. It will slowly melt and release the menthol and essential oils.
Since these menthol shower tablets also have coconut oil in them, it can make your shower slippery. You can activate the menthol shower bomb and place it in a plastic cup.
How Long Do Shower Steamers With Menthol Crystals Last?
Once activated, a eucalyptus shower steamer will last about 5 to 10 minutes before it is dissolved. You can not reuse them because they melt in the shower.
Unused, your menthol shower tablets will last about 6 months. I like to make a few batches of these menthol shower melts and store them in an airtight container in late summer so I have them for cough and cold season.
