Customizing Your Activated Charcoal Melt and Pour Soap Recipe
I have a basic charcoal melt and pour soap recipe, but you can customize your bar. Here are some ways to make it your own:
- I used a flower silicone mold. You can use your favorite mold. I like to use a rectangle mold or this small loaf mold for melt and pour soap.
- You can use your choice of soap bases. I used a white soap base from Crafty Bubbles. You can also find goat's milk soap base or shea butter soap base at Nature's Oils.
- Since I'm using my charcoal soap recipe for specific skin concerns, I used my favorite skin blend: Bumps and Boo Boos. I also like the Clear Skin blend from Simply Earth.
- You can also create your own skin care blend. Use my essential oil blending worksheets to create your own blends.
- I did one pour to make my soap. You can also make layers or swirls with white soap for a fun effect.
How to Make Charcoal Soap Without Lye
You will need the following supplies to make this easy charcoal melt and pour soap recipe:
- Melt and Pour Soap Base: I used a white soap base. Normally, white soap base gives you a lighter or pastel soap bar, but charcoal makes it pretty dark.
- Charcoal Powder: I used activated charcoal to make my soap.
- Rubbing Alcohol: Mix the charcoal powder and rubbing alcohol before adding to the melted soap so it doesn't clump.
- Essential Oils: I used Bumps and Boo Boos from Simply Earth to promote skin health. You can omit them and make it unscented or use a fragrance oil.
- Silicone Mold: I used a flower mold. Use your favorite mold.
- Microwave Safe Bowl
- Spoons
The amounts that you need for each ingredient are listed below in the recipe card.
