Benefits of Rose Salt Scrub

This pink salt scrub DIY has several benefits for your skin.  Besides smelling good, it helps improve the look and feel of your skin.

Exfoliate.  This pink salt scrub uses Himalayan salt to exfoliate your skin.  By removing the top layer of skin, it makes your skin look brighter and feel smoother.

Moisturize.  Lock in moisture and embrace a healthy glow with each application of the rose petal salt scrub. The fractionated coconut oil penetrates deep to soften rough patches and rejuvenate dry skin, leaving you feeling pampered and refreshed.

Aromatherapy.  As you indulge in the rose petal salt scrub, experience a profound sense of relaxation and stress relief, transporting you to a state of blissful serenity.

Rose Salt Scrub Ingredients

Before we get into the crafting process, let's familiarize ourselves with the star ingredients that make this recipe a skincare sensation:

Rose Petals.  Derived from the petals of the majestic rose flower, rose petals infuse our scrub with their enchanting aroma and potent skincare properties. Rich in antioxidants and vitamins, they help soothe and rejuvenate the skin, unveiling a youthful radiance.  Only use dried rose petals; fresh rose petals can rot quickly.

Pink Himalayan Salt.  Pink Himalayan salt, mined from ancient sea beds, is a mineral-rich salt that gently buffs away dead skin cells, promoting circulation and revealing a velvety-smooth complexion.

Fractionated Coconut Oil. Say goodbye to dry, parched skin with fractionated coconut oil—a lightweight yet deeply moisturizing base. Packed with essential fatty acids, it replenishes the skin's moisture barrier, leaving it soft, supple, and oh-so-kissable.

Essential Oils.  I added some rose absolute, but you can use other essential oils.  Lavender essential oil works well with roses.  You can also find the best substitute for rose essential oil if you don't have rose essential oil.

How to Prepare Rose Petals to make a Rose Salt Scrub

You can use dried rose petals or dry your own from a bouquet of fresh flowers.  Make sure the rose petals are fully dry to reduce the chances that the scrub will grow mold.

Crush the rose petals to release their aromatic essence and create a textured base for our scrub. Use a mortar and pestle or simply crush them between your fingertips until they reach your desired consistency.

Optional Additions and Variations

This is a basic rose petal body scrub.  You can also add some optional ingredients for more benefits.

  • Add 1 teaspoon of raw honey.  Honey has vitamins to nourish your skin.  It's also an emollient.
  • Vitamin E oil is high in antioxidants for your skin.  It helps reduce the signs of aging and combat damage from free radicals.
  • I like using pink Himalayan salt, but you can also use sugar or sea salt.  Learn about salt scrub vs sugar scrub.
  • I used fractionated coconut oil because it's a dry oil that soaks into your skin quickly.  For more moisturizing, use avocado oil or sweet almond oil.

How to Use Rose Petal Body Scrub

Here's how to use your pink salt scrub for best results:

  1. Prior to applying the scrub, dampen your skin with warm water to help open up pores and enhance absorption. This prepping step ensures maximum efficacy and indulgence.

  2. With gentle yet firm pressure, massage the scrub onto your skin using circular motions, focusing on areas prone to dryness or roughness. Allow the exfoliating granules to slough away dead skin cells, revealing a luminous complexion beneath.

  3. After massaging, allow the scrub to linger on your skin for a few minutes, allowing its nourishing ingredients to penetrate and revitalize.

  4. Rinse well and pat your skin dry.

You can use this scrub on your hands, feet, or body.  Do not use on your face.
